Welcome to the Memphis Barbecue Network...
|
|
|
...founded in September 2007 by representatives with over 50 years combined experience in running sanctioned contests in the Memphis-style barbecue judging. Our mission as the Memphis Barbecue Network is to promote, educate, and enhance the aspects of pork barbecue cooking and competition that are associated with the unique style of Memphis barbecue. We also endeavor to become part of the national and world-wide community of barbecue lovers, whether through competition or friendship. The MBN was formed to provide organization and support for new and existing contests; to provide the contest network with knowledgeable and experienced judges; and to maintain the integrity of judging procedures.
The Memphis Barbecue Network anticipates to sanction 45-60 contests a year. Over 400 teams will compete in these contests. In the two years since the MBN's inception, over 800 judges have signed up to be members. We expect in the coming to months to have nearly 1,000 judging members.
